Wake Up! With Musings From Upstate

Good morning fans of Thoughts From a Fat White Guy.  You may have noticed a lack of posting yesterday, as in…absolutely none.  Well that’s because I was travelling to the land of enchantment, where dreams are reality and nothing is impossible, of course I’m talking about Upstate New York.

I had a lot of time to think about what I’d say in this blog space, 212 miles on the NYS Thruway will do that.  When the scenery is peppered with dilapidated farms and make shift meth labs, and the smell of your Lab and Pit Bull are stinking up the back seat, your mind can’t help but wander.

meatball-and-the-coopSpeaking of those two loveable mutts, my Pit Bull “Meatball”  spent the last 35 minutes of the drive humping the shit out of our Lab.  As she lay there, half asleep nauseated from the 6 hours of driving, I looked back curious of the sounds that were emanating from these two animals.  Heavy panting, faint moans, I felt like I was back in high school.

So yes, my one dog was dominating the other the only way he knew how: Hump her into submission.  Which is kind of how I view life and blogging; I just need to hump my readership into submission…metaphorically.  But upon further inspection of the date-rape ensuing in my vehicle I realized that one dog was sleeping while the other was going to town.  Which is why I woke up thinking maybe we should change his name from “Meatball” to Big Ben.

Just a thought

It’s going to be a good Wednesday, so stay tuned.

Rob you had me confused with the “Land of Enchantment” being Upstate NY since New Mexico’s state slogan is just that. Having the unfortunate luck of driving through New Mexico on the way to Colorado I must warn you of offending the New Mexico folk. Well the 5 people that A. can read and B. have an internet connection in New Mexico anyway…. Nevermind Carry-on good sir.
