My MTV featured music videos.
The Real World was the only non music based programming and you could tune in all day everyday to see great music videos from Dre and Snoop, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Biggie, and Janet Jackson. Even people like Meatloaf had cool music videos.
You could watch MTV all night long tonight and you would see pregnant 16 year olds, someone named RJ Berger trying to get girls, a movie about the worst prom ever, some reruns of That 70’s Show, people trying to conceal their true identities on a show called True Life, more pregnant 16 years old, and then at 3 o’clock in the morning, some music videos.
The videos run from 3-6am. Then there are more from 6 until 9am. That’s it. Music Television only shows music videos six hours out of the day, and those six hours occur while most people are knee deep in a REM cycle.
Well after stumbling upon this video from Ciara, I really, really want my MTV back.
