At the end of the second period I ran outside and took a dump on my Ovechkin jersey. Now, at the end of the third period, I sit here smelling like shit and loving every minute of it. Roller coaster ride, ticket punched and here we go into overtime. Michal Neuvirth has stood on his head tonight, otherwise this game could have been so out of reach even a 3 goal third would not have touched it.
I have to give the Rangers some credit. They looked really sharp in the second period and dominated. Unless the Caps take this overtime game I would say the series goes 7, if the Caps can pull this one out it could be the dagger.
Question, does anybody else think Tortorella looks like Fonzy? Just need him to roll out onto the ice to jump a tank of sharks with Pinky Tuscadero screaming in horror behind the glass. Either way the guy is a good coach and has the Rangers playing well in this series. I have to think Gabby must have let a few f-bombs fly in the locker room between the 2nd and 3rd periods. He looked like a tick in August, ready to pop after 2 goals in 7 seconds. Shout out to Ranger fans for the “Can You Hear Us” chant to Boudreau after his choice comments about MSG and Ranger fans. Props for that now go back to the wharf where you rats belong. Uncalled for I know, but I feel better.
The cardiac Caps are at it again. They came out strong in the first, slept through the second and rebounded in the 3rd. Marcus Johansson and Chimera are giving them the speed to get around Staal and the shot block machine Gilroy. All this guy does is block shots, shots and yes I will have another SHOT.
Carlson and Alzner are the future of this franchise on defense and for those just tuning in to this series pay attention to these two guys. Both young bloods, Carlson can barely buy a beer, have played great so far. Thank God because we have to offset the Shultz factor. I can’t say enough how bad this guy is but with two injured defensemen he has to play.
Something is wrong with Ovie, I have seen him standing still on the ice half a dozen times tonight. This season there has been some questions about his fitness, looks a bit fat and rumor has it did not train very hard in the off season. Well now is when you need it, overtime games against the Sean Avery and Brandon Prust, the hounds of hell, and he seems tired. On Sunday the camera caught him on the bench hitting the oxygen, I have never seen him do that and I don’t miss many games. Tonight he has tried every side and can’t seem to get by Staal or Gilroy, they are good but Ovie is all world. Don’t get me wrong, Alex could walk through my front door and kick me in the nuts and I would ask for another but we need him going 100mph every shift and its not there so far.
YESSSSSSS WINNER,,,WINNER chicken dinner! Chimera in the second overtime!!! That’s it, I am too exhausted and too drunk to continue. The Caps have 3 games to win 1 and then it’s Beth Page Black for the Blue Shirts.
